Yoga on HolidayThe yoga sessions normally consist of a recuperative session on the evening of arrival and then a 3 hour session every morning for the duration of the holiday, leaving the rest of the day free for you to enjoy as you like. This format could be modified according to the wishes of the participants, so for example, there could be evening sessions or on certain days the class may take place in the afternoon if participants want their morning free. The yoga studio is a light and airy space set in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Yoga equipment will be provided. I hold a Senior Intermediate level 3 Iyengar Yoga teaching certificate and have been practising yoga for 35 years and teaching Yoga as a full time profession for 27 years. The classes are suitable for Iyengar Yoga students of all levels but organised in a way which will allow everybody to work to their own potential. Accommodation Lavaldieu is an old French farmhouse in an attractive rural location converted into a friendly and easy going guesthouse with a variety of accommodation options. There are a few single rooms and others with 2,3 or 4 beds. There is also a campsite. Food is all vegetarian, homecooked and mostly organic. Breakfast and evening meals are provided. The organising of midday meals has usually been shared between participants and taken together at a large table in the open air after the yoga practice. You will book your accommodation requirements through me and pay Patricia at Lavaldieu on arrival. Alternatively there are many other hotels and guesthouses in the area for you to choose from Full details of accommodation options and costs can be found at the Lavaldieu website Getting there and getting aroundLavaldieu is situated near the village of Rennes les Bains in the department of the Aude in the South of France. The nearest airport is Carcassonne to which Ryanair operate low-cost flights Saturday to Saturday from Liverpool and Stanstead airports. Ryanair also offer flights to Carcassonne from East Midlands, Bournemouth, Glasgow which arrive and depart on different days so would mean a longer stay. Flights to other nearby airports are also possible (e.g. Perpignan, Toulouse). Transfer time from Carcassonne is about 1 hour. You can be picked up and driven back to the airport if you wish, or you can hire a car for the week for approximately £170. Lavaldieu is quite isolated so if you want to get around and explore the area you will need a car, although in previous years those without transport have sometimes been able to go out on trips with those who have. Once you have booked your place on the holiday you can book your own flight and car hire according to your own requirements. I will be happy to advise and assist you if you need help with this.
